Social Activist – President Y4D Foundation
“
“If there is a problem and you are not a part of the solution then you are a problem” – This particular quote significantly changed my orientation towards my way of living.
I come from an economically backward family from a small town named Mangrul-Nath in Washim District of Maharashtra where my family struggled in supporting my education. They even have to sell their property so that I can peruse my higher education in engineering. Keeping this in my mind I started my career with honesty and dedication. Although I struggled in initial years but soon, I accomplished a good career growth, and with the support of my wife we have reached to a stable and sufficient financial state.
Many people have supported me in getting where I am standing today so to continue this chain of giving in the society, I started volunteering in various NGOs and social causes. However, there was a constant urge to do more for the well being of humankind and in response to that me and few of my friends started an ‘volunteer movement called Y4D (Youth for Development) and soon enough this movement took a shape of an organisation.
In 2016, I finally decided to shift all my focus towards this organisation leaving my job and well-built career. This was a difficult decision to make, but I followed my conscience in order to satisfy my desire to be a part of the solution and give back to society.
I began Y4D Foundation with the mission of “Empowering the Underprivileged.” In just five years, Y4D has spread its wings to many parts of the country, benefiting millions of people. During this journey we shook hands with some big corporates, NGOs and various organisations. Y4D works on most impactful models which are driving direct change in life of underprivileged people.
I am positive that Y4D foundation will continue to grow on its path of giving and benefiting the lives of more and more people. Therefore, as the co-founder and President of this foundation, I want to take another step forward in my personal commitment, which is why I’d wish to join #LivingMyPromise’s vision so that my mission of empowering the underprivileged can continue whether I am there or not.
