Company Secretary, Writer and a Professional Social Worker
I am joining LivingMyPromise because I come from a world where every rupee mattered, every single paisa was spent in a very judicious manner, to make ends meet. I have known what it feels like to have little and to wonder if dreams are only meant for others. But I have also been fortunate that life has brought me to a place of abundance. And I carry both those worlds within me every day. The shift from scarcity to stability to abundance didn’t happen in isolation. It happened because people, communities, and systems believed in me, supported me, and offered me opportunities when I needed them most. That generosity has left a mark on my heart.
Over the past several years of my engagement and work in the social sector, often on the frontlines of change, I have seen something profound: the more we give, the more we grow, not just in resources, but in meaning, connection, and purpose. My engagement with the development sector gave me the purpose of my life and a beautiful realisation that giving back is not charity; It is a way of staying connected to who I am and where I come from and what purpose I chose for my life. Besides, by joining, LivingMyPromise, I shall also be able to motivate my child, his friends and others who know us, creating a ripple effect and motivating others to give back to society and support causes that really matter to the community at large.
By joining LivingMyPromise, I shall be able to express gratitude to everyone, who has supported me in my journey of self-realisation and empowerment. This will help in ensuring that someone else’s journey from scarcity to abundance becomes a little easier. I want to be a bridge, just as others were for me. This promise feels like coming full circle, with love, responsibility, purpose and hope.
