“In life’s journey, the starting line differs from person to person. The instances are all around us. From a construction site where a worker’s family and children stay, to roadside shops where mothers keep babies with them, to maids who bring their babies because they have no one to leave them with. So the ability of a construction worker’s child, for example, to use their capabilities to the fullest is severely limited by their access to resources like education and quality healthcare. Their more difficult physical and social circumstances at home also serve as added barriers.
We believe that we have been fortunate to not start with such handicaps in our lives. Hence even as we look to secure our future, can we also look to remove hurdles for the less fortunate? We want to try. Our aim is to give the less privileged a better shot at using their innate abilities to lead a better life. And if we can give a fighting chance to even a few lives with our time, knowledge and monies, then it would make our life’s efforts all the more meaningful.”
